This is crazy amazing... (and a little creepy) 

Pimkie colour forecaster tells you what are the hottest colours being worn in three fashion forward European cities; Antwerp, Paris & Milan. 

How? By scanning through a range of live images and videos and then nailing it down to a single pantone swatch. 

And just incase you don't already own anything in that colour, Pimkie even goes to the trouble of generating an array of fashions in that colour that are available for you to purchase online. 
So thoughtful!

Typographic Years

They're by a dude named Simon Page who has done a whole set of years in typographic form. 

I feel like it's kind of a puzzle looking at them trying to figure them out.

The Man Who Invented the Future

These illustrations are from a 1960's book by Jules Verne called 'The Man Who Invented the Future', the beautiful illustrations are by Peter P. Plasencia.

I'm generally a sucker for all things colourful but there's something so lovely about these grey scale gouache illustrations.

I simply adore them!

Festival of Dance, UK

These posters were designed by Amy Rodchester for the Newcastle Festival of Dance in the UK. 

I adore the simple muted pastel colour palettes she's chosen and of course the whole collage thing she's got going on using the same shape repeated with different images of dancing feet inside.

So simple, yet so effective.

Prada Spring / Summer 2012

Totally loooooving the styling on Prada's current Spring/Summer 2012 advertorial campaign for print. 

It's this whole Über modern, highly polished woman meets rockabilly at the local 50's style gas station - complete with hot rods and all! 

"Bathed in sunlight. Fuelled by optimism.

Girls and cars stop and stare at the future in the technicolour mise-en-scene of desire" 

That's Prada's little sum up of the campaign. Either way it's stunning! 

 I couldn't find who styled it but it was shot by Steven Meisel, I love the use of low angles looking up at these glamours that are so preened you could almost mistake them for mannequins! 

Oh and aren't the shoes with the little flames just to die for...

William Miller's Polaroids

William Miller is a photojournalist out to show the world what he is capable of shooting with an old, semi broken Polaroid SX-70 that he picked up at a local flea market.

Miller claims that ever since his first use of the camera, it malfunctioned... Spitting out two polaroids at a time, producing blurry abstract images and such.

Miller fell in love with the results, and refused to return the camera and instead chose to treasure both the camera and the artworks that it popped out with every click! 

The photographs are completely abstract yet dream like and completely hypnotising. It feels like you've taken acid and are watching some spectacular sun rise/ set in some kind of melting, Technicolor utopia.

Lego Land

Yes that's right, it's a table made from Lego... 

Not entirely though! 

Parisienne design team Munchausen were looking to design a one of a kind piece to fit their very own kitchen. So off they went to Ikea where they purchased your average Ikea standard kitchen island, and then they went to town, covering it in 20,000 pieces of Lego and well they came up with one very cool looking kitchen bench, that you sure as hell ain't gonna find at your friends house.

Eight Hour Day

I've had this sweet little image bookmarked for ages and have finally got my butt around to researching the talent behind it, Katie Kirk.

Katie Kirk is one half San Francisco based design / illustration team otherwise known as Eight Hour Day, which she runs with her husband Nathan Strandberg. 

They do a load of vintage inspired designs and patterns for numerous uses; cards, books, websites, advertising and the list just goes on. 

I could harp on and on about how gorgeous they all are, but i'll let the pictures do the talking this time!

Jason Munn

I'd like to introduce you all to possibly one of the coolest graphic / poster artists around at the moment... Jason Munn.

Munn, whom is based in California is most famous for designing his one of a kind silk screen printed indie rock posters.

Munn's designs have a simple aesthetic that echo the work of the greats; Saul Bass, Charley Harper and Jeff Kleinsmith. 

His work has a distinct retro-esque style that is utterly simple yet stunning. His use of bold simple geometric shapes, and simple seventies colour palettes are so strong and striking, I can't see how anyone could help but like his work!

You'll notice that Munn's work often has recurring images such as feathers, guitars, birds, records etc.. that are all manipulated in one way or another to produce some form of meaning to represent the band. Munn claims this is his way of creating continuity in his art work, and hey it seems to be working wonders!

Munn currently designs under the pseudonym : 
"The Small Stakes" 
- also the name of his design studio in Oakland, California. Rumour has it he is gearing up to collaborate with fellow graphic artist, Dirk Fowler.
